A day in the life

Solstice

At about 4:30 this morning happened the winter solstice but we decided to celebrate in the afternoon instead.

Four of my friends and former neighbours from where I used to live cameover, plus a refugee from Sudan, who was given a home in Sweden by the man with the jumper and the woman with the smile, he was almost kicked out by our authorities because it was impossible to decide how old he is, therefore he was not entitled to continue and finish the gymnasium-school he had begun. Now he has almost completed an education as a nurse and are waiting to be a Swedish citizen. Without their persistence, he would most likely not be alive today.
That's a Christmas story as good as anyone and not too flattering for our government. We are so happy to have him with us.

We had a most wonderful fika with rhubarb pie , my own rhubarbs (frozen), glühwine (Glögg) coffee and snacks, celebrating the return of the light.
