Hectic

Headed into Kirkwall to take Campbell to his swimming lesson and whilst we were there we caught one of the St Magnus festival events, Mixter Maxter. A collaboration of secondary school pupils, National Theatre and community writers and artists.

Well worth a look. A steet dance/theatrical performance led us into an old warehouse which they had transformed into an art installation (if that is the correct term). Sculpture, photography, performace art, film, poetry. Fantastic use of space.

After swimming we wandered the continental market which has been set up on the kirk green in front of the cathedral for the past week. Lots of tasting and a few purchases later we headed back to Burray for the sports day. Managed to miss most of the races and 'It's a knockout' competition but the boys had great fun on the 'Gladiator' hit each othe with big foam padded stick things game.

Picked up the boys pals and home to set up the tent in the garden. Midsummer night BBQ and then sleep. Although how much sleeping the boys did is anyone's guess.
