The Attraction of Small Things

The strong winds this week have brought down a collection of twigs and small branches from the trees at the bottom of the garden. Many are brittle and encrusted with lichen. I saw this one laying pensively on the flagstones and was attracted to the colours and shape. The attraction of small things! This photo was taken indoors against a black background to bring out the detail and remove any distractions.
