Clifford's Chimney

Went to the York Castle Museum with my dad today. After last night's antics, a museum probably wasn't going to be the ideal place to recover, but this is no ordinary museum! Anyone who visits York has to go: imperative!

It shows how people used to live by recreating rooms, shops, streets, schools, prison cells, fire-stations.... the list goes on. It's full of retro appliances and shockingly sexist old advertisements, there are loads of anecdotes (giving labour a few hundred years ago does not sound like fun!) and newspaper clippings with funny language and news articles (3 months hard labour for stealing someone's washing!) It's really interesting in a visual, people-interest, non-intellectual way. Entirely manageable and enjoyable even with a hangover!

Then we went for a pub meal with my bro, Pete, and his girlfriend, Wendy. Perfect end to a great weekend.

Oh and my dad came up with the name for this blip, it's Clifford's Tower looking like a cloud chimney! Happy Father's Day!!
