More Really Shiny Things That Don't Mean Anything

The City of London festival starts this weekend. There is a lot of music, street theatre, circus, dance, beer festival... It also includes several new sculptures around the city. "More Really Shiny Things..." is a stainless steel sculpture by Ryan Gander. According to the plaque it supposed to look as if it has a magnetic core and all the shiny useless objects that fill a city have been attracted to it. It has the scale and materiality of a work of "significance" but means nothing. It certainly meant nothing to these two!
