Christmas Robin

We have our Christmas meal this evening, leaving room for a less traditional birthday meal tomorrow to celebrate G’s 70th. Having a German daughter in law, we’ve had a Christmas Eve celebration for several years, but this is the first time we’ve gone for the traditional ‘turkey and trimmings’ - though it’s actually chicken with a nut roast for Solveig and me.

We invite Rob and Terry, who bring ‘the swapping game’ - a sack of wrapped gifts ranging from games to books to an inflatable male doll (don’t ask) where each is unwrapped in turn with the opportunity to swap yours for another opened one that takes your fancy. It makes for a somewhat crazy hour or so!

So, it’s now on to the prospect of a birthday Christmas Day - probably rather more sedate. I’m not sure whether today’s photos of ‘the game’ would get past blip censorship, and I forgot to take any of our meal,  so here’s a Christmas robin from yesterday’s RSPB walk.

Wishing all you lovely blippers a very HappyChristmas!
