The Pink House, Glen Glass

This is one of the most instagrammable spots on the NC500 (well, not that far off it, anyway...) (as seen on The Traitors, apparently).

As today was set to be sunny and cold, I forewent a Boxing Day swim, and we drove down to Evanton and up a slightly dodgy road (frosty and slushy) to the entrance to the Wyvis estate. As had done others, we ignored the signs saying it was a lorry turning circle and parked at the end of the road. From there it is an easy walk up an estate track to the beginning of the Loch. We didn't walk right up to the Pink House, as once we had left the trees behind, the track was very slippery and neither of us wants to catch a fall and break a limb. Better to be cautious. Anyway, it will still be there in the spring and summer, although I guess parking might become an issue at certain points.

The short highland day has now ended and it's dark again outside, so time to close the curtains, ramp up the heating, and settle down for an evening of reading.
