I'm only here for the crag

Lots of people were out for their Boxing Day afternoon walks, so there was nothing for it but to shin up Braid Hill with Dad for the fresh air and no wind (Storm Gerrit(?) pending...sigh), and to work off a few calories after our Christmas not-Day big meal, before heading back to base for a pudding of DIY trifle.

It was a very clear afternoon, with the moon having hardly set from yesterday and visible above and to the right of Arthur's Seat.  In the distance on the right you can see the distinctive cone of North Berwick Law, and the craggy stump of The Bass Rock.  Until 2015 stood another distinctive landmark on the coast in the middle distance: the two tall chimneys of Cockenzie Power Station.

I was planning to stay another night but decided to head home today on account of the forecast. yr.no reckons 25mph which is breezy enough but the Beeb said more like 45mph, which is less fun to cycle in!  But it's been a lovely couple of days all the same.  I have two new books to read, courtesy of my brother and @BikerBabe, and some lovely socks and a hamper of amazing looking foody things.
