Poor GG

GG is what our grandchildren call Betty, my F.M.i.L. as she is their Great Grandmother.
I'm afraid GG is not doing very well at the moment. Not been with it, more than usual, for about a week, not eating, not drinking, in total confusion about everything and anything. The last three days she has not even been able to get out of bed to sit or do anything at all.
It's so sad but the grandchildren, twins, Hetty and Bella, and Ruby and Eric have spent some time by her bedside talking to her and Marlane. Ruby, in particular, is very curious about her condition and Marlane has explained that she is really not well. In fact, we think it's nearly time for her to achieve her greatest ambition which is to meet Jesus Christ.
It's sad but what a life she's had. Born in Glasgow, Parkhead. Lost both her parents when she was about 11. The children were then raised by 'Aunty Lizzie' in Salamanca Street, Glasgow.
Worked for a newspaper, and then joined the WRAF, as a Teleprinter Operator, and stationed at RAF Uxbridge before being posted to RAF Changi, Singapore, where she met and married my Father-in-Law, and best friend it turned out, Peter 'Ziggy' Zegveld. Next posting abroad, for Ziggy, was Ceylon (now Sri Lanka of course) where the babies just kept coming until they eventually finished up with six girls and one boy. In the ensuing years she's worked at RAF sick quarters, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, BSSO (British Services Security Organisation (a section of Mi5)) in Koln, Germany.
When she worked at RAF Innsworth sick quarters she used to ride a Honda C90 motorbike
They've toured the UK and Europe in a VW caravanette, often with grandchildren, and crossed Australia in a Mazda van, no mobile phones, no radio, no sat nav!
She's had quite a life, but it looks like it's coming to an end before too long.
