Glass Art

I had already decided that I wasn’t running this morning, so it was a nice slow start to the day.  A bit of pottering and  a bit of picnic making.  We had a plan, but then the rain started, so we sat it out for a while.  When we got fed up waiting on the rain going off, we decided to put the picnic in the fridge and to catch a train to Exeter.

It was still raining when we got there, but was slightly less heavy.  We had no plan and because of the rain we stumbled into the Royal Albert Memorial Museum to take shelter.  We emerged around two hours later, having had a good look around.  What a great museum.  The rain had stopped, and we were all peckish, so went in hunt of some food.  We had a late lunch in a café overlooking the magnificent cathedral.  Once we were replete, we headed into the cathedral for a look around.

Next was a wander down to the river, and then down by the canal to double locks, where we crossed over and walked back up the canal to Exeter Quay.  It was the best bit of the day, still a bit grey, but at least dry.  BB had been planning tea while we were walking.  Once  back in the city centre, we headed to Wagamamma’s – his venue of choice.  We had to queue to get in – but not for long, and it was all very efficient once we had a table.

We then wandered back to the train, and then back home to our holiday house.  All in all a grand day out!

I really liked this glass art in the museum.  These glass exhibits by Steffen Dam, are made to look like specimens in jars.
