Packed …..

….. ….. ….. and ready to set off for Arrowtown from Waikuku Beach. Missy’s always keen to be in the car and excelled herself today. It seemed as though she slept the whole way, apart from the stops we had.

Goodbyes were said to my son-in-law’s Dad at his Rest Home and we set off south. It was easy going in the Inland Scenic Route as far as Geraldine, apart from incessant misty showery rain. Then the traffic thickened up and much patience and tolerance was called for. Fortunately my granddaughter & I had plenty to chat about and that was a superb distraction from all the traffic.

The sun came out as we headed up into the Mackenzie Country, with the temperature climbing from a chilly 13° to 27°. The traffic police were out in force and I’m sure they had plenty to do.

We stopped to change drivers at Lake Pukaki and admire a lovely view of Aoraki Mt Cook, peeping through fluffy clouds.
