It had largely stopped bucketing down when I went for a walk this afternoon although I was glad of the full set of waterproofs every now and again.

It has been very windy and wet as you can see from this lane which currently looks more like a stream bed than a track. When they talk of By-ways Open to All Traffic, they don’t generally actually have boats in mind (a little joke for the highway engineers out there).

There’s been considerably less sneezing and snuffling going on from the chair next to me, so I think we’re probably over peak cold now. Whisper it, and not to count my chickens etc., but I have my fingers crossed that we might both be fit enough to enjoy New Year’s Eve this year …
