Sparassis crispa

The morning spaniel walk had to be cut short. Every estate we tried seemed to running a shoot and the spaniel is terrified of loud noises, especially shooting. So we headed back home but not before I'd stumbled across this magnificent example of the Cauliflower Fungus (Sparassis crispa).
