As it's been stormy, I asked Alexa several times whether the Severn Bridge would be open today. "Yes" was the reply twice yesterday evening and again this morning.

Nearing the bridge, a huge sign told us the bridge will be closed from 10th January.  However, we found it was shut just as we approached. Bloody annoying!! 

The junctions around Bristol are always a nightmare and we were caught in queues trying to negotiate the alternative route to Clive's sister's house.

We arrived an hour later than we hoped but it was lovely in the end.

Here's Clive's niece, Jenny and her daughter, Evie. Both names are repeated on my side of the family. (Evie had made up Jen's face with the makeup kit she received for Christmas)

We decided to pick up the M5 at Gloucester to come home. We weren't caught in any jams. I doubt we saved time but at least the drive was straightforward.

Signs all over the place telling us the M48 Severn was closed. 

Miserable weather.
