That Will Do!

Christmas at the Botanics

As usual we left it until late in the year to visit the annual light show at the Botanics, choosing a time later than last year, which proved rather busy, so aimed for a 7pm entry.

First problem was getting there, as we had to pass through the mad throng assembling for the torchlight procession and its attendant road closures, thus congestion on alternative routes; second problem was finding a parking place as earlier attendees had yet to vacate their space - no matter, we just had further to walk. Notwithstanding these difficulties, we did manage to enter within the allotted time frame.

Main photo of the much-blipped dragonflies on the pond, whose reflections (and those of the trees) duplicated them so clearly. The extra is a collage of four features I particularly liked, though I did enjoy bopping to the 'light lines' among other displays. Clockwise from top left: Snowflakes, part of the projection against Inverleith House, Dandelions and Rainbow Hedge (omitting the mistletoe we have poinsettia, ivy, holly and ?amaryllis).

All the while the moon shone clearly above the trees, stars came out to play, the path back to the car twinkled in gathering frost but we were particularly well wrapped-up, just were grateful to sit down having regained the car. We passed the hoardes in town as they plodded home from their procession.
