Goodbye to the Hills

Sat for a while to play dominoes with the Elijah and Bo, before the inevitable pack up and goodbyes. It's been an amazing week and I was sad to leave my dear sister, her family and the Hills. We were blessed by many beautiful rainbows in the first hour of driving and then gorgeous blue sky. Stopped just outside Doncaster for lunch on our laps in the Peppered Pig. Fish finger sandwiches all round!
I then took over driving for a couple of hours, then MrK again for the last hour...six and a half hours in total, including the stop. Dropped Nanny at hers and rang Lizzie to tell her we were safely home. They had dropped Josh and his Kayak at Tebay and an hour later he arrived at their bridge, where they were all waiting amazed by a family of otters as a bonus. We opened the last of our presents we hadn't been able to fit in, which included a lovely mug from my friend Heather. She had bought it when she was at 'Potfest' earlier in the year. Funnily enough Lizzie and Steve had been there too. A lovely fire and a box of orange matchmakers finished off the day nicely.
