Another's coming!

After Mass this morning we ventured to the coast again, at West Bay.  I had not realised until opening the car door what 5.5 deg C. and a 20mph wind meant – a biting chill.  Yet these game youngsters were gambolling in the foam on the west beach.  They weren't in any deeper, I imagine, because the waves looked pretty powerful, and they must have been full of gravel – judging by the colour of the water.

And on east beach there were people swimming in the shelter of the harbour wall with only swimming costumes!  We don't possess that sort of strength of character, no matter how beneficial the cold water on body and soul.

Happy New Year, all; it could well be happy for us in the UK, but let's think of those suffering repeated attacks from the air . . .
