Happy New Year

An excellent Hogmanay. As described in yesterday’s journal. Meet up for drinks, walk to a Chinese restaurant near Princes Street, coffee and dram at the Calley then out for the Bells and impressive fireworks.

Another family gathering today, much depleted from what was expected owing to illness and changes of plan. Steak pie, mash and neeps with plenty now left over. Eton Mess and Brownie to finish.

A second glorious sunny day. We walked along to the Water of Leith to one of David’s brothers and his wife for coffee and a lift back to Balerno and the family gathering.

Sitting back and relaxing and also planning what to do tomorrow.
