The easy road to drink

It's downhill, you see, steeply so, to the pub that you can just discern – the pale wall in the centre of the picture.  Here is a photo I took in May last year.

Then of course it's steeply uphill to get home, unless someone has offered this old bloke a lift up the hill.

But I'm not a frequent visitor to the pub, so recently has it been turned round from would-be gastropub to proper local with a crowded bar and Sunday roasts.  It's a pleasure to have it in the village, although that thatch looks in need of attention before many years have passed.
