Fallen angels

Although it isn’t yet Twelfth Night, two of us met at church to dismantle the Christmas decorations before the service on Sunday. A few talented local folk have produced some very effective items which, along with greenery and candles, made the simple interior of the church look very attractive over the Christmas season. Now, the smaller decorations and candles have been put away in boxes for another year, the wilting greenery is on the compost heap, and we are just left with the problem of finding a suitable home for the four willow angels which vary in height from 1 to 2 metres and have a similar size of wing span. For now, two are lying on top of a cupboard in the small vestry but there was no space for the two larger ones which are hoping that someone will give them a more comfortable home than this space above the church porch.
