Today, mealtimes have been accompanied by unexpected soundtracks.

Kylie Minogue’s ‘Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi’ was piping through the breakfast buffet selection. In the evening when we had a group dinner of nyama choma (meaning roasted meat), You’re Still The One by Shania Twain was playing as the waiter carved off lumps of camel meat onto my plate.

Surreal, but undeniably delicious.
