Well watered

This was the back garden scene that greeted us when we woke up this morning. The result of hours of heavy incessant rain. Unlike many poor souls elsewhere in the country we weren't in danger of the house flooding but Rocky the cat was decidedly unimpressed. He might have been keener on going out if ducks had decided to try out the new garden pond, as happened previously in our neighbour's garden when it was under water. The road outside has flooded again and there was flooding at one end of the High Street, causing traffic chaos in and out of the village. Now it is getting colder and happily our replacement Nest thermostat has arrived and with the help of Mark, who diagnosed the problem earlier in the week and talked me through the installation process over the phone, it is up and running and we now have a fully scheduled programme again.
