Twelfth Night

It's January 6th today,  Twelfth Night, when Christmas decorations customarily are taken down and packed away for another year. My daughter in Brighton is keeping her Christmas tree up until Candlemass on February 4th. I think this is becoming more common but I'm sticking to starting the New Year, decorative clutter-free, from tomorrow. The photo is of a couple of Australian tree ornaments that Emma gave us - a kangaroo and an emu, both sporting Santa hats. Good to have an antipodean contribution to the bauble box and it's a shame that we won't see them again until next December. The tree is likely to go to someone locally who has asked for Christmas trees to give to her goats, presumably to munch on.
