You thought it was all over…

Not quite, the Christmas decorations still proudly adorn our living room, hall and conservatory. Having been away a week we wanted to have a last few days to enjoy them all.

Some say the 12th night is 5th January, counting Christmas Day as the first night. Others say counting starts at Boxing Day making the 6th the 12th night. Others keep them up until Candlemass! The suggestion that keeping decorations up after 12th night (whenever that may be) brings bad luck is a modern interpretation.

We walked into town this morning for a few bits and bobs and a coffee. I went to look at the Medway which was flowing fast and turbulently. It was high but not as high as I’ve seen it in the past.

Jobs this afternoon, cleaning and clearing out cupboards. About to start the aperitifs now. Christmas cake for desert. Have a good evening.

Which reminds me I haven’t blipped Susan’s Christmas card for this year. Just when you thought it was all over….
