No through route

Yesterday’s rain finally gave up mid morning leaving us with a dull, featureless day. We walked this morning via the doctors for an appointment then on to see how the recent wet weather has affected our part of Kent.

The rivers are high with localised flooding. It’ll be interesting to see what the Medway is like tomorrow. This is Mallards Lake which is now larger than usual with nobody keen to get to those seats. Despite all the rain we seem to have come off quite lightly compared with some parts of the country.

The Trent valley has been particularly hard hit. We could see the vast flooded areas as we crossed the river near Newark yesterday afternoon. I hope you’ve all been safe and dry.

This afternoon Susan went to see her mum while I went shopping and did some new year financial calculations. All good with Doreen. While we were away we had notification that she’d been fast tracked onto the NHS continuing care plan. An amazing and unexpected outcome.
