Snowy Sunday

One of the things I love most about snow is the variety of birds that show up. Wildlife draws near for food and drink and it’s delightful to see them. We never want our visitors to depend on us, of course, but supplementing their diet during the worst weather seems the humane thing to do. It’s a delicate balance • We’ll exceed the 3-6” snowfall prediction but the final tally won’t be known until tomorrow morning. I broke open the step, front patio and walkway, and filled empty feeders about 45 minutes ago, and may put something out for the dear deer. The problem is the snow is supposed to continue until 7pm, covering their goodies • Today I read a 9 year old girl who recently had brain surgery has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. She turns 10 on January 16. Her family has asked for birthday cards to be sent to her. If you’re so inclined, here’s the address:
