Quod oculus meus videt

Winter Skies

My cousin and her husband have spent much of the first quarter of the year in Spain, driving down with their caravan to miss the worst of the weather at this time of year.  The plan was the same for this year, until Steve managed to rupture the tendons connected to his kneecap just before the new year.

It's caused a change in plans.  He is now waiting on an operation to reattach the tendons above and below the kneecap.  Thankfully he is not in too much pain, as yet (his daughter, an A&E sister has warned him that's likely to change after the operation), but he is immobile so I asked Heather if she would like to join me for a brisk walk this morning.

Much of the area we walked is old industrial land on Cannock Chase, this small incline shows part of the reclamation works for the local West Cannock colliery that stood here in the mid 1900s.  I just liked the warmth of the colours on the land, backed by the steely blue of the clouds above.

L was riding and I caught up with her after lunch and then it was a quiet might at home.
