I was fairly incredulous to be asked to join a work call on Boxing Day, and it was successfully dodged. Even if I could see properly, the eye infection still limiting me quite a lot, a beachside cabin on the fringe of phone receptivity is not the ideal setting. At this point the brain is pleasingly far from work issues, save for the occasional thing punctuating through WhatsApp.
