Celebration!

Jen walked through the door and immediately suggested the pub, as it was such good weather. Mind you everyone else had the same idea and Joseph Pearce's was rammed. We found a couple of stools by the window and the glass of white wine I asked for came back full of bubbles :)

Day off today, originally to travel to London to spend the weekend with Jen but she decided after the first stint away that in fact coming home would be preferable to spending her 4 days off staying in a hotel, albeit a nice hotel, rather than a functional business hotel. As she wasn't due back till 7PM I spent the day catching up on some chores, unfortunately getting very bored three quarters of the way through and having to really push myself to get them finished.

Got some shopping done early which included a trip to Eddie's for some sushi grade salmon and tuna, with a couple of scallops thrown in for good measure. Then down to Crombies for a sirloin to complete the ingredients for a nice Japanese meal. All very tasty, though as Jen managed to drink a little to much wine on the journey back she had to have some chips on the way back from the pub as sahsimi and seared beef salad do not do much to line the stomach. I even made some hoso maki which I haven't done for ages, a bit wonkily rolled but very tasty.
