To Live's To Fly . . . Townes Van Zandt

Today the lovely daughter flew back to Auckland.  At the airport I was taken with these big portraits hanging above arrivals and departures.  The photographer is Melissa Banks of Nelson and she took them to showcase the Primary Schools Kapa Haka competition which was held in Nelson earlier in the year.  Kapa Haka is Maori performing arts, singing, action songs, poi. You probably can't see but there is a ghosting to the images as if she deliberately used a slow speed.   I liked the effect because it seems to freeze the movement of an arm or piupiu/skirt. (Try large with the black surround)
We are just two now but of course LD will be home again.
