The Pile Lighthouse.

My knees felt better but I still was reluctant to do anything like housework and scarcely moved till after lunch when I drove off to Tayport to photograph the Pile Lighthouse. Tayport has three lighthouses and this one was erected in the river in 1848 to replace the on-shore East Lighthouse. It fell out of use in the 1960's and very few of its kind remain in Brritain. When the tide is out it's possible to walk out to it and fishermen sometimes do. Cormorants are fond of it as well. It's so long since I've been out that way that I got lost on the way back and came home in the gathering dusk. Pleased to discover I'm not as bothered by oncoming headlights as I used to be.
