Back in Siberia?

Today was largely taken up with council work; sorting out and re-homing the Parish public rights of way (PROW) brush cutter, and then sitting through a presentation on the new in-development local authority local plan.

The Plan relies heavily on old and discredited plans that proposed dumping hundreds of houses into the village without any infrastructure, and guess what... another 775 houses (about a 60% increase) and "we think the developers will pay for infrastructure". That's about £20M for new schools and >£20M for national highways improvements, and I'm not sure the developers will agree... ah well.

In the afternoon we slipped up to iced-over Slimbridge to watch the Bewicks come in for the evening feed. Not so many left now - I guess the recent mild winter had caused them to go back to Siberia. I think this one thought he'd already arrived...
