Fallen cedar

The university campus has some amazing old trees and is a great place to wander at lunchtime. This massive old cedar fell at the beginning of the week and has now been chopped up ready for removal. Lots of logs have been left around campus to increase biodiversity so I'm not sure if they'll leave some of these in situ. It's such a shame to see a tree of this size in pieces.  It will certainly leave a gap by the path to the lake.  
Nice walk with L at lunchtime. Cold but lovely blue sky and sunshine. 
Drove to Maidenhead with a friend for book group number 2. The book,  How to kill your family,  divided us 50:50. I was one of those who did enjoy it.
