Wound up in Wexford

By Neatwithice

Oops

It was fortunate that W stepped in the hot press (aka airing cupboard) in stocking feet this morning, to check the temperature of the hot water.  He emerged with very damp socks.

On further investigation, the scrap of old carpet on the floor was saturated, and 24 rolls of loo paper (the bottom layer of each of the 1½ boxes in there) have very soggy bottoms.

We couldn't see the source of the water, but it's also fortunate that we had previously found a local plumber who had replaced a dripping toilet cistern, and who was able to come round within a few hours of my call.

And he spotted the dripping stop tap very quickly.  And he had a replacement one in his van.  Just 30 minutes after arriving, he was leaving, having cured the problem.  Phew!!

It was the one visible low on the back wall here.  Between the electrical switches.  That's the new one.  The leaky one is seen lying on the cardboard on the floor.  It's all drying out now, I can return the towels and bedding to their usual storage shelves.  Need to find alternative storage for the loo rolls - the cardboard boxes they were in are beyond salvage.  Hopefully the rolls with soggy bottoms will dry out and be usable.
