At the dentist

Wednesday
It was a morning for appointments - Roger back at the eye specialist for a check up, and me at the dentist for my 6 monthly check-up. Happily, we both got good reports. When R had seen the specialist in early December, he was told there was some inflammation there, so he had to start taking drops again. Today he was happy with what he saw, but R still has to take drops, but at a slightly reduced dose - 3 times a day instead of 4. I also got a clean bill of health at the dentist. I always get a build up of plaque on the inside of my lower middle teeth, so the hygienist had to work at those for a while, but otherwise they were good. The dentist we had been seeing since 1996, a lovely lady, always cheerful, and often humming or singing (!), and very good at her job, had the audacity to retire just over a year ago- she was almost our age! Her practice was taken over by a youngish couple, both highly qualified dentists. He is also a keen and very good photographer, as evidenced in the waiting room, where he has quite a number of his photographs on display, which makes it a pleasant place to wait. I haven’t formed much of an opinion of him yet. I’ve only seen him twice, and most of my time there is spent with the hygienist, then he came in, looked at the X-rays, the hygienist tells him anything she’s noticed, then he gave me a quick look over, and that was it! He’s certainly not as chatty as the last one, but time will tell! Moreover, I don’t really know what he looks like, as he came in wearing his magnification glasses, and was a wearing a mask, so I could hardly see his face!
In the afternoon I was taking down the Christmas tree and other decorations in the family room
