A day in the life

By Shelling

End of Christmas

We were expecting snow today but from that prediction came nothing. A pity actually, the old, dirty snow, now filthy from the wind and rain, could do with a new white coat.

My fathers name was Knut. Nobody's called that anymore but the name still has its own day in our calendar and that's today. Twenty days after Christmas is the thirteenth so the day is of old called "Tjugondag Knut", 'Twentieth day Knut'. This is the day when Christmas is officially over, the Christmas tree goes out the window and all Christmas decorations goes back in there boxes for next Christmas. I removed my Advent-stars  and everything else reminding me of Christmas, next stop is Easter but that's a long way off.
