The Edge of the Wold

The village

We can't see our house from here.  It's hidden behind a couple of trees.  This is the view of the village from part of the way up Worsendale in the afternoon as the sun was sinking towards sunset.  The spire of St Edith's on the right contrasts with the cooling towers of Drax on the left of the horizon, the last working power station visible from the village (when I first visited 25 years plus ago, there were several).  4 out of 6 of the boilers at Drax have been converted to biomass (wood pellets), so most of the energy generated now is renewable.

In the morning C ran her Qigong workshop in the village hall, it was well attended, and there were a lot of very relaxed looking people afterwards.  A good day.
