Ice

The freezing rain did its job last night and the world was encased in a thick sheet of the stuff this morning. Plants, cars, driveways, walkways, houses. Fortunately the temperature rose just enough above freezing today to start a thaw. But the forecasters had predicted that it would all have been thawed by this afternoon...not so much. We may have another day of thawing before this is all said and done.

The patio furniture on my back deck were curiously decorative early this morning!

The plants in the extras are:
Gaultheria procumbens - Variegated Wintergreen
Mahonia 'Cistus Silvers' - Cistus Silvers Mahonia (bred by Sean Hogan at Cistus Nursery here in Portland)
Lagerstroemia 'Cool Beans' - a dwarf Crape Myrtle
