Green Shoot

Steve planted several anemones and fritillary in the trough on the front step. Green shoots have put their heads up above the surface of the soil for a few days but if they're there in the morning, they've gone by the afternoon.

Such was the fate of this one. It was there when we set off for Dobbies but had gone by the time we came back. I was blaming birds that might have been scratting about in the container but now I look closer, this green shoot looks decidedly ill. It might have got frozen.

Ham, two eggs and chips at Dobbies with tomato ketchup and mayo. Splendid stuff. We drove back over the Forest stopping briefly at the Outwoods car park for Basil to have a run.
