Huskies

We went dogsledding this morning. Our team were a bit feisty. A couple of them started having a bit of a fight, but the handler shouted at them and had to separate them. But generally the reliable experienced dogs go at the front and the ones with strong legs go at the back. You have to stand up behind the sled and your passenger sits in front of you. Occasionally you have to scoot along a bit when you’re going up hill to help them out. The dogs turn and glare at you if they need a bit of help. It was a magical experience up on a slight plateau with the coral coloured sun just rising, the trees so laden with snow that they create fantastical shapes, looking like animals or people or strange aliens. We loved it . These huskies are Siberian I think with their traditional colouring and blue eyes. Our team were mainly the larger Alaskan huskies.
This evening we went on another fruitless Aurora hunt. It appeared but only weakly and was reflected off a hazy cloud cover. Could not get my camera to behave properly as it kept changing settings with a mind of its own. Not sure if the cold affected it . Extra. That was on the phone, but LooseCanon’s camera picture was similar.
Extra extra , taken by our guide is of us and our “team”.
