2nd Sat Strollers

for the blackbrids we found together

Here's a new pamphlet (2023) by a local, Edinburgh poet, Catherine Wilson Garry, and the final poem from within:

Blackbird

Before he was my husband, he told
me that another word for home
was blackbird. What else feels as

reliable as that call, the opening of the
year, which all other birds
can only hope to catch up to?

When I am travel-drunk in airports, the
first noise I hear is them -
yelling at a lamppost.

We look out the window,
of the house he grew
up in, and I am thankful

for the blackbirds we have
found together.
