Meet Miss Scalloway 2024

Heavy snow all morning, finally easing before lunch.  Rain started in the afternoon, more due overnight.  Calm all day, and clear tonight. 

Up early, got ready for work, but reports of blocked roads.  It wasn't long before I got a call to say the airport would remain closed, due to limited road access and safety for workers and passengers.  A morning of chores instead.  When the snow stopped, met friend Julie for walkies.  Cleared the car and drive, ready for an early shift tomorrow.  More walkies this evening, but mostly quiet at home.  If this snow clears, I hope I get a chance to see the Beluga whale visiting us, unfortunately roads aren't good for unnecessary travel for long distances. 

Another big dump of snow this morning, which seems to be thawing in places tonight, freezing in other places.  We nearly got hit a few times as the snow slid off the roofs.  We heard more excitement along the road, some folk were building a snowwoman.  It's was the perfect snow for such fun, and there seems to be plenty around the village today.  Tonight she's acquired a cone crown, but lost her breasts.  Naomi Jackson and Lucy Kerr, with a frosty Miss Scalloway 2024.  Taken on Main Street, Scalloway.
