A Day Worth Recording

Rollers

Between the 'porch' of the house and the main hallway we have two huge sliding doors.  These run on wheels and a beam, as you see here.  This is part of the 1860's reworking in the house when the original porch was replaced by the atrium, at the same time the whole frontage was Victorianized with tower, fancy windows, and stuff.

We only tend to use one door and that's always been stiff, rubbing against the floor-level timber.  We've now found someone to potentially turn us up a new set of wheels, of slightly larger size so as to lift the door ever so slightly.  This is one of the shots I emailed to explain the problem (hence the tape measure for scale).
