Waxing Gibbous Above Juromenha

Juromenha sits at the head of our huge Lake, with Spain close by on the other bank. The last time we saw it, the castle was a (dangerous) ruin. We'd heard they were restoring it, so decided to go have a look. Indeed they are, amazing amount of work done, but sadly, not allowed on the site. Ironic because it's bound to be a lot safer now than it was when we first clambered over it, room size holes hidden in the weeds.

Came back through Spain, further, but the road to Juromenha was full of holes, so probably just as quick in the end. The sun was setting as we crossed the disputed Ajuda Bridge, stunning light - I've put a couple of videos on WhatsApp, and here, a link to Mike's photo of it. We've never seen so much water under that bridge, an encouraging sight.

Gratefuls:
- one small, but crowded restaurant open, where we had some fried river fish for lunch
- Mike baking a loaf of bread, which we took to Bengt and Gunilla
- not meeting any boars as we drove back at dusk
