A SOUP TO WARM YOU UP

Well what a night - so loud and noisy.  I am very thankful that we were all OK here.  Checked Mum was OK and she didn't hear a thing!!!!

With the major disruptions happening to travel today I checked on Avanti's website and they said all travel restrictions were off so we made the decision that there was a train running to Edinburgh at 12:21 so we put him on that.  It has now been delayed by up to about 40-45 minutes but is well on it's way.  Delays are expected in situations like this.  One of these however was due to somewhere between Carlisle and Haymarket the driver had to stop the train, get out and remove large branches from the lines!!!!!! So amazed, and very thankful, that he was able to spot them and they were of a size that he could move them.  WELL DONE AVANTI DRIVER.  It's not often I sing their praises but when they have been exceptional like today - I just have to acknowledge that.

UPDATE ON TRAINS:  14:45 train stuck in Carstairs due to a freight train in front of them.  Only just now started moving, but at least they are moving.  Carstairs isn't too far but far enough.  Fingers crossed for no further disruptions.  Still glad we made that decision for G to go early!!

The roads to and from Oxenholme have been OK - some branches here and there and some puddles but nothing disruptive, just care needed.

On the way home we stopped off at Levens Kitchens for a warming soup.  It was busy but not heaving.  Soup was delicious, a little spicy but not too much so.

A bit concerned as I  have to drive hubby to Preston Hospital tomorrow for his pre-op appointment.  Luckily it's not due until 1.00 pm so plenty of time to get there, but we could be driving in Storm Jocelyn!!!!!  Hopefully not as fierce as Isha!!

I hope you are all safe, do take care BlipFriends and see you all tomorrow.
