Guildford Cathedral

The view from our friends' balcony at dusk. A double-barbecue day and hardly the weather for it. The first was a communal get together we have most years among the neighbours. Didn't have so much as a sausage at that one. Second was at the home of our doctor friends. Overdid it on the meat at that one. Pleasant evening, we didn't sit out on account of the lack of summer. Gill was happy to drive. I was just happy.

The floodlights on the cathedral stayed lit until about 11.30pm. That seemed reasonable, no need to be on all night.

Can't stop thinking that we've turned the corner now. The nights are lengthening and autumn will be upon us soon enough, then winter and the dismal evenings. Yes, I'm a proper little ray of sunshine.
