With Luca

Luca, in the toy tent - which he is now outgrowing, fast - looking after the family of soft toys. Dr Luca, that is, with his bright red case complete with stethoscope, syringe and various other important items.
We had a good day together. Eben was off school with a sickness bug, so Ruth took a day off work to look after him.  This meant a more relaxed end to the afternoon than usual, and we had time for a cup of tea and a bit of a catch-up. These mostly focused on her current dilemmas about her job situation... a long story.  With luck there will be positive updates in time.
Later, Richard and I finally watched 'Mr Bates vs the Post Office'.  What a truly excellent drama-documentary this is, no wonder it has had such a huge impact. The scale of the lies and deceptions perpetrated both by the Post Office senior management, and by the software supplier Fujitsu, are truly gobsmacking.  It was more convenient to blame defenceless people than to own up to systems errors.  Sadly, the sub-postmasters/mistresses who were wrongly accused of theft or fraud have yet to receive proper compensation, although now at least their names are cleared in the public domain.
