Birds Aquiver

Second weekly work day. Just a quick walk in the afternoon, and cooked a charred-aubergine chilli, this being the first time I've cooked things directly on the gas flame. I've seen people making roti that way before, which looks fun - they blow up like a whoopie cushion! On this occasion I was just charring an aubergine while trying not to set the smoke alarm off.

My sketch is a medley of folk depictions of animals from photos of the artist Mark Hearld's house in "The World of Interiors" magazine.

Watched "Clay Pigeons", dir. David Dobkin. Another black comedy, with a very beautiful setting in a small Montana town. Although apparently this isn't Montana at all, because the film was actually shot in Utah and California... The point is it's bright, open and rural, with snow-capped mountains in the distance and lakes close at hand.
