Rain then Sun

It absolutely poured last night - a veritable tropical deluge. It rained so hard that the rain came through a crack in the top of the front door and made puddles in the kitchen. Lightning and thunder added to the drama.

But this morning the sun was brilliant and the sky was crystal blue. We spent the morning on the little beach behind my sister’s house. The ocean (Gulf of Mexico) is warm and it felt great.

We went out for a light lunch of grilled shrimp and guacamole (see extras) and then headed off to Progreso. If you’ve taken a cruise that includes the Yucatán Peninsula, you may have stopped in this port city. Read more here if you’re interested https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progreso,_Yucatán.

We headed down the malecon to the beach and spent a couple of hours sitting at a table under a palapa. A beer, a couple of games of dice and then it poured. Hot and humid now!

In the extras: a couple of views of the beach, the malecon, several buildings in Progreso, including city hall. And the grilled shrimp :-)
