The Woodland Garden (Thursday 18th January 2024)

At last, after what seemed a particularly lengthy period, the garden is just starting to awaken. No sign of the forsythia as yet, but primulas, snowdrops and these hellebores are starting to cautiously reveal themselves.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Nic Jones - The Little Pot Stove (1980)
The first issue of Uncut on sale this year was Deep Roots (A Celebration OF Topic Records), a nicely curated history of Topic making a timely reminder of how influential this uncompromising folk label has been over the years. One stand out track was this key inclusion on Nic Jones' classic album Penguin Eggs, last re-released in 2016. I played the album through on this day and was reunited with this old favourite.
